About the Founder, Charlie H. Williams

As the founder of The Williams Firm, attorney Charlie H. Williams brings nearly 15 years of dedicated legal service to clients in Orangeburg, Bamberg, Calhoun, and Dorchester Counties. A third-generation lawyer, Charlie’s commitment to justice is deeply rooted in his family’s long-standing tradition of legal excellence. His grandfather and parents laid the foundation for a practice focused on helping those impacted by negligence and serious injury, and Charlie has proudly carried this legacy forward.

Charlie is known for his ability in handling complex personal injury and criminal defense cases, including automobile accidents, tractor-trailer accidents, and wrongful death claims. His strategic approach and deep knowledge of South Carolina law have consistently led to favorable outcomes for his clients.*

Born and raised in Orangeburg, Charlie actively participates in local events and charitable causes, ensuring that his work reflects his genuine care for the people he serves. Education

Charlie attended Orangeburg Preparatory School in Orangeburg, SC, and graduated from Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Virginia, in 2000. While at Woodberry, Charlie played three varsity sports and studied abroad at the University of Vienna in Vienna, Austria.

In 2004, Charlie graduated with Honors from Wofford College, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics. While at Wofford College, Charlie was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, and he studied abroad in various locations such as Thailand, New Zealand, and China.

In 2009, Charlie received his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While attending law school, Charlie was a member of the Student Bar Association, Phi Delta Phi, and the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court.

Community Involvement

Charlie Williams is an active community leader with a record of service across civic, professional, and nonprofit organizations. A longtime member of the Rotary Club, he was recognized as Rotarian of the Year (2019–2020). He has served as chairman of the Alzheimer’s Association board, on the Board of Governors for the South Carolina Bar, and as First Circuit Representative of the Young Lawyers Division. He is also involved with the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the South Carolina Association for Justice.

Beyond his professional service, Charlie has contributed to local nonprofits, including the Methodist Oaks assisted living facility and the Regional Community Foundation, where he helps raise funds to support healthcare in the tri-county area. He is an active member and former deacon of First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, and enjoys coaching youth sports. A devoted father of four, he values time with family, outdoor activities, and maintaining balance in all aspects of life.
